Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His NHL career was a huge disappointment, given the fact he was drafted behind both Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin.
He struggled to maintain consistency during his pro career, often bouncing around between the NHL and the minors.
He was injury prone, which some hockey pundits felt played a role in his rapid decline with the Blackhawks.
He was overpaid by the Blackhawks, due to the fact the team was forced to do so in lieu of not giving him a qualifying offer as a result of a clerical error.
He frustrated his coaches in both Chicago and Minnesota with his sloppy play and poor defensive prowess in his own end.
He became a journeyman player in the European leagues following his departure from the Canucks.

Why he might not be annoying:

He established himself as a defensive star with Medicine Hat of the Western Hockey League.
He was the first player in thirty years to be drafted by the Blackhawks with a top three pick (2004).
He was a member of the Canadian national team that won the gold medal at the IIHF World Juniors in consecutive years (2005-06).
He was forced to pull out of the 2005 World Juniors after he contracted mononucleosis, but still received a medal for his efforts.
He was able to briefly resurrect his NHL career with the Oilers after playing well enough in the American Hockey League during the strike-shortened 2012-13 season, prior to the NHL season starting.
He pursued a career in coaching following his retirement as a player.
