    He wrote the Riddler's riddles in 'Batman Forever.'
    He created a customized crossword thatJon Stewart used to propose to his wife.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Fans of his crosswords include Ken Burns, Mike Mussina and Bill Clinton.
    He coached the US team to three titles in the World Puzzle Championship (1995,96,98).
    He said, 'The perfect puzzle is one that stretches you to the limit, the one that you look at and think 'I can't do this,' but then you do and that's what gives you the great feeling of satisfaction.'
