    She was fired from her contracting job shortly after the photo was published.
    She struggled financially and lost her house to the bank.
    The photo went viral and sparked a debate about prohibiting media from photographing military coffins.
    The firestorm contradicted the government's claim that families of troops killed in action agreed with its policy.
    The photo led to the Pentagon lifting the coffin photo ban during President Obama's first term in late 2009.
    She said: 'The photo was honest. It captured the respect for the dead and that’s what it should have been about.'
