    Won 4 gold and 2 silver medals at the London Olympics, becoming the most decorated Olympian of all-time (2012)

Why he might be annoying:

    He competes in a sport where you shave your entire body to cut down on water resistance.
    He appeared in commercials for Visa, Speedo and AT&T
    He is one of the most hyped Olympic athletes of all time.
    He listens to Eminem before swimming.
    Despite being over 6 feet tall, he has very short legs, very long arms and a long torso.
    He has big ears.
    He bought an Escalade with 'spinner' rims.
    If he had won all 8 gold medals, he would of recieved a million dollar bonus from Speedo, he didn't (2004).
    He turned professional at sixteen.
    Although compared to Mark Spitz, Spitz swam with full body hair, no goggles, death threats and broke world records on every gold medal swim.
    He had a picture of his rival, Ian Crocker, hanging in his room for over a year.
    Bill Maher complained his Time magazine cover looked to much like Blue Boy, a gay men's magazine.
    He eats only 5,000 to 8,000 calories a day.
    He won his eighth Olympic medal of the 2004 Olympics without swimming in the finals.
    He was arrested for DUI (and was two years younger than the legal drink age, November 4, 2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He tied the record for most medals won at a single Olympics (eight).
    Rowdy Gaines said he had the perfect swimmers body.
    He gave up his spot on the relay to Ian Crocker so he could get a gold medal and he did.
    He broke 5 world records in a single meet.
    He has a friendly relationship with his rival Ian Thorpe.
    He is very close to his mother.
    He eats a big breakfast every morning.

    He is the first person to win 8 gold medals in a single Olympics (August 2008)
