    Many of her early film appearances went uncredited.
    She changed the spelling of her married last name from Kwoh to Quo because she was constantly asked if KWOH was a radio station.
    She got cast in Love is a Many Splendored Thing when she applied to be a dialect coach for Jennifer Jones - who was going to be appearing in Yellow Face as a Eurasian doctor.

    She and her husband were both prominent academics who spoke out against Japanese Internment camps during World War II.

    She was active in drawing attention to the case of Vincent Chin, a Chinese-American beaten to death after being mistaken for Japanese, and she produced a 1998 play in his honor.
