He is considered one of the NBA's cheapest owners.
Before the 2003 season, he refused to pay top dollar to star players.
He was sued by some of his tenants for attempting to evict them from one of the buildings he owned.
He was sued for racial discrimination (2005).
He admitted to paying a prostitute for oral sex.
He was investigated by the NBA after allegedly making several racist comments during a recorded phone argument with his girlfriend (April 25, 2014).
He allegedly told his girlfriend not to bring black people to Clippers games, not even Magic Johnson.
He was banned from the NBA and fined $2.5 million as a result of the comments he made (April 29, 2014).

Why he might not be annoying:

Despite criticism from basketball pundits, he has kept Elgin Baylor as the team's general manager for over 20 years.
He was willing to spend money to keep marquee players Elton Brand and Corey Maggette on the team.
He is a successful real estate mogul in the Los Angeles area.
He is a humanitarian.
He is good friends with Lakers owner Jerry Buss, who advised him to purchase the San Diego Clippers.
