Why they might be annoying:

'American Woman' was butchered by Lenny Kravitz.
Guitarist Randy Bachman became a Mormon and quit the band.
They titled an album 'Canned Wheat' (who ever heard of canned wheat, anyway?).

Why they might not be annoying:

They wrote pop songs with a lot of fuzzy, psychedelic guitars.
Bachman later formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive and had a hit with 'Takin' Care of Business.'
They did a lot of reunion tours.
Bachman's son, Tal Bachman, is a singer/songwriter in his own right.
One of their albums showed the band wearing hockey uniforms and drinking beer (how's that for Canadian pride?).
