Why she might be annoying:

She may have lied about being pregnant to force Chaplin to marry her.
She complained about Chaplin's workload and delayed production of his films.
Chaplin described her as 'no mental heavyweight.'
In divorce court, Chaplin accused her of having an affair with Alla Nazimova.
Like many silent stars she had trouble making the transition to talkies.
After her divorce, she was credited as 'Mildred Harris-Chaplin' in her films, leading to a public fistfight between Chaplin and Louis B. Mayer.

She was one of the first notable child stars.
Her 'Wizard of Oz' films were produced by L. Frank Baum himself.
Chaplin became involved with her when she was 16 and he was 29.
The baby she eventually had with Chaplin was badly deformed and lived only three days.
Chaplin took little interest in her career.
She attempted a comeback in vaudeville with Phil Silvers.
In 'Chaplin' (1992), she was portrayed by Milla Jovovich (who ironically also married at age 16).
