Why he might be annoying:

Though he was a nice guy off camera, his menacing looks caused him to be typecast as villains in film roles.
He played a character named Cueball in his first film (a nickname he sometimes went by), but sported a full head of hair in the film.
He divorced the mother of five of his six children.
In the 1980s he portrayed Mr. Clean in TV commercials and shilled for Midas Mufflers.

He served as a paratrooper for the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving both a Silver Star and Purple Heart.
He was a motorcycle stuntman for the circus before landing in the movies as both and actor and stuntman.
He was in three Burt Reynolds movies and the two became lifelong friends.
He was an accomplished furniture maker and built cabinets for several of his co-stars.
He made guest appearences in such TV series as 'Kung Fu,' 'Little House on the Prairie,' ' Starsky and Hutch,' 'The Dukes of Hazzard,' 'The A-Team' and 'Magnum P.I..'
