Vocalist

The Resume

    (July 8, 1930-May 18, 2014)
    Born in Bronx, New York
Birth name was Genaro Louis Vitaliano
Recorded the singles 'You Can Never Give Me Back My Heart' (1953), 'Two Purple Shadows' (1954), 'I Live Each Day' (1954), 'Innamorata (Sweetheart)' (1956), 'You Don't Know Me' (1956), 'Al Di La' (1962) and 'Have You Looked Into Your Heart' (1964)
Appeared as himself in 'Goodfellas' (1990), 'Casino' (1995) and The Sopranos

Why he might be annoying:

He lied about his age to perform in nightclubs when he was fifteen.
He missed the chance to be the vocalist on Percy Faith's chart-topping 'Song from Moulin Rouge' when he had to undergo an emergency appendectomy.
'Al Di La' is often called his signature song, but his version never made the Billboard Hot 100.
He hosted an infomercial for 'Mob Hits,' a CD box set of songs from mobster movies.

Why he might not be annoying:

As one profile put it, 'Not known for being cool, hip or cutting edge, Jerry's simply a darn good singer.'
He was married to Rita Grapel for 54 years.
He frequently sang the 'Star Spangled Banner' at Yankee Stadium and his recording of the anthem was a fixture at sporting events during the 60s.
He was good friends with fellow Italian-American crooner Frank Sinatra and was an honorary pallbearer at his funeral.
