Actor

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He claimed to have regularly seen Smokey Robinson driving around as a kid.
He briefly played another character with similar mannerisms to Marcus on a Season 3 episode of The Jeffersons.
The Marcus character was written as a surrogate son figure to boss and mentor George Jefferson but he was gone by the next season, likely because the show already had Lionel (even though they kept changing).
He claimed 'I am the only black person to ever star opposite [Bette Davis] in a film' (which technically is incorrect, there was Ernest Anderson as a black man Davis frames for murder in 1942's topical 'In This Our Life' - which may or may not count).

Why he might not be annoying:

He grew up in inner city Detroit.
As a kid, he met Martin Luther King and Jackie Robinson through his church.
His acting mentor was Richard Roundtree.
Bette Davis allegedly got racist hate mail for doing the TV movie 'White Mama' with him.
He had bit roles in Transporter 2 and Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar.
He remained close with Jeffersons cast members.
His 'Your mother's an astronaut' routine with Kadeem Hardison in the cult classic 'White Men Can't Jump' may arguably have popularized 'Yo mama' jokes.
