Sportscaster

The Resume

    (1965- )
    Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin
Co-authored ‘Chi Chi’s Golf Games You Gotta Play’ with Chi Chi Rodriguez
    Co-hosted SportsCenter (ESPN, June 1999– ) and Wipeout (ABC, 2008– )

Why he might be annoying:

When handling highlights for the Milwaukee Brewers or Green Bay Packers, he doesn’t have a particularly neutral stance.
He traveled to Missouri to be a high jumper on the University of Missouri’s track and field team.
He was offended by the suggestion that ‘Wipeout’ was a game show (‘it’s a reality competition — very big difference’). (Not always.)
He had to fly back and forth between coasts to host ‘Wipeout’ and ‘SportsCenter.’
His son is a ‘Wipeout’ fan (uh-oh).

Why he might not be annoying:

He received a degree from the Missouri School of Journalism.
He regularly attends Missouri Tigers (NCAA Big12) events.
He was Wipeout’s straight serious nerd to John Henson’s deadpan sarcasm and Jill Wagner’s sex appeal (yeah, those other two were a stretch).
Not to say he has no comedic edge — he said of Detroit Tigers outfielder Curtis Granderson, ‘The only thing better than an Anderson is a Granderson.’
