Why he might be annoying:

He had a high-pitched voice.
He was a geek decades before it was chic.
He had an unlikely lifelong friendship with Marlon Brando.
They were roommates until he got fed up with Brando's pet raccoon.
His relationship with Brando might have been sexual.
His ashes were said to have been scattered at sea. Later, Miko Brando admitted that his father kept them hidden in his closet.
He was a regular on the Hollywood Squares.
He hated his role as 'Mr. Peepers' even though it made him a star.
His TV persona of being a shy, timid bookish wimp was completely different from the way he really was.
He described himself as a 'terrible person.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was highly sarcastic.
He studied acting under Stella Adler.
Despite his physical flaws, he was able to become a very successful TV character actor.
He made appearances on 'The Twilight Zone,' 'The Dick Van Dyke Show,' 'The Beverly Hillbillies,' 'Mission: Impossible,' 'Lost in Space,' 'I Spy,' 'The Monkees,' 'Bonanza,' 'Get Smart,' 'Love, American Style,' 'Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In,' 'The Odd Couple' and countless other TV shows.
He was the voice of Underdog.
His most famous role as 'Mr. Peepers' was filmed live and the series was not preserved.
He died of a heart attack at 49.
His ashes were eventually scattered at Death Valley with Marlon Brando's ashes.
