    He was grossly overweight.
    He was a dead ringer for chef Paul Prudhomme.
    Leonard Maltin slammed him as 'effeminate.'
    In the 1970's and 1980's, he constantly sucked up to Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson.
    When he met Senator Bob Dole, he said, 'Here, this will balance your budget,' and tried to stuff a dollar bill into Dole's non-functioning hand.
    Because of his obesity and lack of movement, a curtain was drawn around him while on Hollywood Squares, so his clothing could be changed between episodes.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He had five older siblings who died in childhood.
    He wrote children's literature and cookbooks.
    He was friendly and generous to his fans.
    When his daughter-in-law got divorced from his son, she also sued HIM for money.
