    Appeared in the films ‘Champion’ (1949), ‘The Tender Trap’ (1955), ‘Kid Galahad’ (1962), ‘Lord Love A Duck’ (1966), ‘The Way West’ (1967) and ‘Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?’ (1968)
    Portrayed Edie Hart in ‘Peter Gunn’ (1958-61)
    Replaced Dorothy Malone as Constance MacKenzie for 14 episodes of ‘Peyton Place’ (1965-66)
    Recorded the albums ‘Lola Wants You’ (1957) and ‘Dreamsville’ (1959)

Why she might be annoying:

    Her parents wanted her to become a concert pianist and objected to her acting.
    Before reverting to her own name, she briefly used the pseudonym Lola Deem.
    She was married and divorced three times.
    Because of her unwillingness to cut her $1,500 per week salary, she lost out on a part in ‘The Asphalt Jungle’ (1950) that became Marilyn Monroe’s breakthrough role.
    She was described by TCM.com as ‘charming but often miscast.’

    She was a frequent model for pinup painter Gil Elvgren.
    She had a sultry singing voice.
    She won the Silver Bear as best actress at the Berlin Film Festival for ‘Lord Love A Duck.’
    The manager of her ex-husband, actor Jack Carson, said, ‘She goes out of her way to help people. She'd give away her last dime if she thought it would help somebody.’
