Offensive backfield coach for the Atlanta Falcons (1975)
Offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1976)
Head coach for the Oakland Raiders (1966-68), Buffalo Bills (1969-70) and the Toronto Argonauts (1973-74)

Why he might be annoying:

He had a heart murmur and ignored medical advice not to play competitive sports.
His NFL career ended after he refused a trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He had a tumultuous relationship with Raiders owner Al Davis.
He cited Davis's meddling in the operation of the team as the primary factor in his resignation as head coach.
He had a fractitious relationship with O.J. Simpson in Buffalo, as he felt Simpson refused to buy into his coaching style.
He resigned as the Bills head coach, after he got into a heated argument with Ralph Wilson in regards to public remarks he made criticizing Wilson's player personnel decisions.
He oversaw one of the worst offensive units during his tenure with the Buccaneers.
He clashed with John McKay over coaching philosophies, that became tenuous enough for him to quit during the season.

He was a member of the Buccaneers inaugural coaching staff (1976).
He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame (2003).
