Actor

The Resume

    (August 9, 1938- )
    Born in Dallas, Texas
    Character actor
Appeared in the films ‘Beach Blanket Bingo (uncredited),’ ‘Paper Moon,’ ‘Blazing Saddles,’ ‘Fletch,’ ‘Honeymoon in Vegas,’ and ‘Back to the Future Part III’
Recurring role as Virgil in the TV series 'Evening Shade'

Why he might be annoying:

He did a series of regional auto dealership commercials.
In the wake of ‘Paper Moon, ‘Madeline Kahn predicted they would work together again. Three months later ‘Blazing Saddles.’
In his later life, he would resemble a cross between Richard Gere and – *gasp* – William Shatner!
He had no problem pushing the envelope on the big screen; one of his ‘Blazing Saddles’ scenes had him downing a plate of beans, raising a leg, and breaking wind.
For his one significant scene in ‘Thunderbolt & Lightfoot’ (with Clint Eastwood), he described his willy as ‘that dude.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He has a strong boxing background — as a fighter (especially on the Coast Guard team) and as a referee.
To be fair, his farting scene in ‘Blazing Saddles’ was a groundbreaker by today’s standards; today most viewers would just shrug it off.
In addition to being an ‘Evening Shade’ regular, he had a steady run of TV guest appearances.
His great big grin is recognized by a few generations.
‘I got in the business to make money, so being typecast didn’t bother me. I know I’m never gonna be asked to do Shakespeare.’
