After his death, Patricia Shannon came forward to litigate his will, claiming they were lovers for thirty years (1997).
Shannon produced a letter from Kuralt promising her 90 acres of land, the judge agreed (March 22, 2000).
He divorced his first wife and cheated on his 2nd wife.
He is a smoker who said he'd never quit (he enjoys it).
