She was a devout Christian.
She divorced her first husband after three years of marriage.
She was twice divorced.
She began performing with Betty Jack Davis as the Davis Sisters (They were not sisters).

Why she might not be annoying:

She was nicknamed 'Skeeter' by her grandfather because she was always buzzing around.
Along with her best friend and singing partner Betty Jack Davis, she was involved in a fatal car accident. Betty died and she was left injured (August 2, 1953).
She then became a duo with Betty's sister Georgia for about three years before going solo.
She died of breast cancer at 72.
She earned five Grammy Award nominations.
She owned a 300 acre farm in Tennessee.
At the end of her career, she performed mainly at senior citizen homes and in prisons.
Her first hit was in 1953, with 'I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know.'
Her song 'The End of the World' was one of the first 'Nashville sound' songs to cross over to R&B and Pop charts.
Some believe she originated the rockabilly sound.
