    Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Center for the Toronto Maple Leafs (1976-83) and the Chicago Blackhawks (1985-86)
Head coach of the Washington Capitals (2007-11) and the Anaheim Ducks

Why he might be annoying:

    His NHL career was unspectacular.
He was considered a minor league journeyman.
He was injury prone in his prime years.
His tenure with the Blackhawks lasted seven games.
Prior to his hiring in Washington, he was frequently turned down for various NHL head coaching jobs.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made a cameo appearance in 'Slap Shot' as the opposing team's intoxicated player.
He was viewed as being one of the successful minor league coaches, having won a championship at every level.
He instilled pride upon a moribund Capitals team.
The Caps responded well enough to his leadership, that he was appointed the team's permanent head coach a month later.
Unlike his predecessor, he taught Alexander Ovechkin to play a complete well-rounded style of game.
