Why he might be annoying:

The NBC version of his successful Australian show (The Chopping Block, March 2009) was canceled after three episodes — and a far smaller audience than Secret Talents of the Stars!
He doesn’t think food gets enough emphasis on culinary-themed reality programs. (Food is the least of your worries, dude.)
‘These days, a chef’s burning ambition is to become a TV star rather than win three stars from Michelin.’ (Funny, since he renounced his stars and went on TV himself.)
His mailbox would often contain women’s undies.
He had an eye for already-married female eye candy — which is ironic, considering how his marriages ended.
He went from looking like a Romeo to being built like a bouncer.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the third of four sons to a chef and Italian immigrant.
His mother died of a brain tumor when he was six, two weeks after the birth of his younger brother.
He opened his first restaurant a few weeks past his 24th birthday.
At age 33, he became the youngest chef to achieve three Michelin stars — an honor that stood for nearly a decade.
Despite having mentored and used similar tactics around him, he does not particularly favor the abrasive approach Gordon Ramsay uses. (He even likened him to Frankenstein’s monster!)
