U.S. Congressman
The Resume
(August 1, 1995- )
Born in Asheville, North Carolina
Birth name is David Madison Cawthorn
CEO of SPQR Holdings LLC (sole employee)
Republican candidate for North Carolina's 11th congressional district in the US House of Representatives (2020)
Why he might be annoying
He's accused of using political dog whistles to build support from the alt-right and white nationalists.
As his stardom rose, he faced allegations of sexual misconduct (which he didn't entirely deny).
He posted pictures on Instagram from Hitler's vacation home (Eagle's Nest), referring to Hitler as 'the Fuhrer'.
Outside of working at Chick-Fil-A as a teenager and being a motivational speaker, there wasn't a lot of depth to his resume as he ran for Congress.
While he desired to battle left wing socialism alongside Donald Trump, he didn't win Trump's primary endorsement.
Why he might not be annoying
He was nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy by Mark Meadows.
He also earned an ROTC scholarship to North Carolina State.
He was left partially paralyzed from a car accident when he was 18 (he was a passenger and his friend fell asleep behind the wheel).
The medical debt he accrued after the car accident is cited as one of the reasons he ran for Congress (reforming health care).
He was considered to have one of the best speeches at the 2020 Republican National Convention.
