The Resume

    (January 29, 1965- )
Member of the Chicago Blackhawks (1983-92), Buffalo Sabres (1992-01), Ottawa Senators (2004-06) and Detroit Red Wings (2001-02, 2003-04, 2006- )
Career record of 296-192-82 (as of the 2003-04 season)
1284 goals allowed (as of the 2003-04 season)
Career goals against average of 2.23 (as of the 2003-04 season)
Career save percentage of .924 (as of the 2003-04 season)
63 career shut outs (as of the 2003-04 season)
Awarded two Hart Memorial Trophies, six Vezina Trophies and two Jennings Trophies (one was shared with Grant Fuhr and the other one was shared with Martin Biron)

Why he might be annoying:

He has a very brutal Czech accent.
He was the 199th pick in the 1983 NHL draft.
When asked what his memories of Dominik were when they spent two seasons together, Ed Belfour said: 'He was my backup.'
He couldn't win a Stanley Cup with the Buffalo Sabres.
He retired after winning his first (and so far, only) Stanley Cup (2002).
After a year of being retired, he returned to Detroit, only to play in 14 games, have a record of 8-3-2 and allow 30 goals.
He caused much distress in Detroit after he came out of retirement, due to the Red Wings' signing of All-Star goalie, Curtis Joseph.
    He named his daughter Dominika.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is nicknamed 'The Dominator.'
He has an odd (and unique) approach to goal tending. It entails him either being on his stomach, kicking at pucks, laying on his back, poking at pucks with his stick or just taking a shot to his chest. In other words, he does whatever he has to do in order to make the save.
Wayne Gretzky once said: 'If I had to pick three players to start a franchise, I'd choose Hasek, Peter Forsberg and Eric Lindros.'
He recorded 70 saves in a playoff game against the New Jersey Devils that ended in overtime with his Sabres winning 2-1.
He is humble, calling himself 'lucky' and saying that his team-mates 'played good defense.'
He recorded 13 shut outs in the 1997-98 season and 11 in the 2000-01 season.
After announcing that he would not be able to play for the remaining games of the 2003-04 season (including any playoff games), he decided to not accept the remaining 3 million dollars in his salary, saying: 'I came to Detroit and I felt that I could play at the highest level ... and I wasn't able to do it.'
