Why he might be annoying:

    He was viewed as being an enigmatic player by coaches and pundits alike.
    Despite a few seasons in the 60-70 point range, his point totals were between 30-50 on average.
    His contract demands in arbitration prompted Bruins GM Harry Sinden to walk away from the contract awarded to him by an arbitrator.
    He frequently had a blatant stare across his face.
    His productivity declined dramatically in the later stages of his career.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He defected from the Soviet Union to pursue an NHL career (1990).
    He played for the famed Sokol Kyiv hockey program.
    Prior to the clutching and grabbing style of play, he was considered an offensive asset.
    He recorded a career high 73 points with the Capitals during his sophomore season (1991-92).
