Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He didn't take up baseball until he participated in an open tryout in college.
He followed in the leads of Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden and became one of the party boys on the Mets roster.
He allegedly decapitated his girlfriend's cat and held Dwight Gooden hostage in his apartment, in a claim Gooden made in his autobiography which further soured the friendship between the two men.
His major league career nearly derailed after he was under investigation for rape (1991).
He was arrested and charged after he assaulted his father in an argument (1999).
He was suspended for nine games in the independent leagues after he punched the owner of the opposing team in the mouth during a bench clearing brawl (2000).
He was arrested for misdemeanor battery following an incident on a golf course (2010).

Why he might not be annoying:

Gary Carter considered him an exceptional talent as he was able to play both the infield and outfield positions seamlessly.
He scored the tying run that set the stage for Mookie Wilson's hit in the 10th inning in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
He established himself as a power hitter following his trade to the Giants.
He was the first Giants player in 20 years to earn the NL Most Valuable Player honors (1989).
He, along with Cecil Fielder, were referenced in the closing monologue of Denis Leary's 1994 music/satire track 'Elvis & I.'
