The Resume

    (August 18, 1931-July 28, 1985)
    Born in Queens, New York
Birth name was John Joseph Williams
Best known for portraying Scott Casey in 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' (1957) and Greg MacKenzie in 'Hawaiian Eye' (1960-63)
Also appeared in the films 'Red Sundown' (1956), 'Written on the Wind' (1956), 'Lone Texan' (1959), '13 Fighting Men' (1960), 'The Leech Woman' (1960), 'Susan Slade' (1961), 'P.T. 109' (1963), 'Brain of Blood' (1971), and 'The Doomsday Machine' (1972)

Why he might be annoying:

He claimed to have trained with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio, but when contacted by a later biographer, the Studio said they had no record of his attendance.
Before 'Hawaiian Eye,' he was cast as the lead in 'The Iron Horseman,' but NBC pulled the plug after filming the pilot, since TV's Western craze was fading.
Except for appearances in a couple of low-budget exploitation flicks, he quit acting after a bitter disagreement with Jack Webb while filming an episode of Dragnet (1969).

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He was selected by Rosalind Russell for a summer scholarship at the Barter Theatre in Virginia (1953).
He was blinded for a week by the extra-bright lights needed for the special effects in 'The Incredible Shrinking Man.'
'Incredible Shrinking Man' director Jack Arnold said, 'Grant Williams was one of the best actors around. But the studio didn't give him the right parts and his career never took off.'
