The Resume

    (September 19, 2011-April 17, 2017)
    Comedy series
    Originally aired on CBS
    Principal cast:
    Kat Dennings as Max Black
Beth Behrs as Caroline Wesbox Channing
    Garrett Morris as Earl
    Jonathan Kite as Oleg
    Matthew Moy as Han Lee
    Jennifer Coolidge as Sophie Kaczynski
Premise: The saga of two financially burdened waitresses working at a Brooklyn restaurant trying to get a fresh start at life

Why 2 Broke Girl$ might be annoying:

It ripped off 'Laverne and Shirley!'
Intertitles have the show's title written with a dollar sign in place of the 's' in the word 'girls.'
Denning's character has a masculine sounding name.
Caroline became broke because her wealthy father's assets were frozen in light of a Bernie Madoff style ponzi scheme.
Many jokes are built on stereotypes including race and economics.
The series also heavily relies on corny sex jokes.
Linda Stasi of the New york Post moaned that its two stars Dennings and Behrs 'make this show bearable. With different casting, this show would be as flat as the pancakes they serve up in the Brooklyn diner where they work.'
Ironically, one of the series's creators (Whitney Cummings) concurrently starred in a self-titled comedy series on NBC.
Caroline has an extreme shoe fetish.

Why 2 Broke Girl$ might not be annoying:

David Wiegand of the 'San Francisco Chronicle' raved that 'Broke is rich with laughs, warmth and credibility. The performances by the two lead actresses are instantly winning, both individually and as they play off each other.'
Its other co-creator had previously worked for comedy series 'Sex and the City.'
Despite all the hardships, it portrayed two women as smart, sarcastic, and independent.
It successfully retained a good portion of the 'Two and a Half Men' audience in its freshman season.
