Why he might be annoying:

He married into almost $1 billion in tech money, has a net worth that rivals King Charles (he is son-in-law to Infosys founder N.R. Narayana Murthy).
He admitted to having few friends in the working class in a 2001 BBC interview ('I have friends who are, you know, working class but... well, not working class').
He was reported to have continued to hold a green card after becoming chancellor, allowing him to live in the U.S. for months into the job.
His wife was found to have claimed a tax status that allowed her to avoid paying taxes on some of her income.
He received a fixed penalty notice for breaching COVID-19 lockdown restrictions by attending a party with Boris Johnson (April 12, 2022).
He was a vocal critic of Liz Truss' failed tax plan, which factored heavily into her resigning as Prime Minister.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a Fulbright scholar who attended Stanford.

He was initially mocked for his early opposition to Liz Truss' Tax plan, but proved prescient.
He defended his position, by saying: 'I'd love to stand here and say that I'll cut taxes and it'll all be okay. But it won't, because there is a cost to these things. Costs of higher inflation, higher mortgage rates and eroded savings. This something for nothing economics isn't conservative, it's socialism.'
