    Birth name was Amanullah Khan
    Emir (1919-26) and King (1926-29) of Afghanistan

Why he might be annoying:

    He may have been involved in the plot to assassinate his father, Prince Habibullah.
    His political reforms, coupled with his wife's social reforms, triggered a revolt by conservatives that forced him to abdicate and go into exile.
    Many of his reforms were undone by his successors.
    During World War II, he reportedly plotted with the Axis powers to try to regain the throne.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He led the Afghans in the Third Anglo-Afghan War (May 6-August 8, 1919), which resulted in Great Britain recognizing Afghanistan's independence.
    He prohibited slavery (1921).
    He provided the country with its first constitution (1923).
    He banned polygamy and child marriages.
    He granted religious freedom to non-Muslims.
