Gymnast

The Resume

    (April 21, 1997- )
    Born in Seattle, Washington
    Artistic gymnast
USA Gymnastics’ Junior National Team (2011 champion)
2012 Junior Pacific Rim women’s gold medalist (all-around, uneven bars, balance beam, floor)
    2013 American Cup winner
    4 ft 10 in (1,47 m)

Why she might be annoying:

At UCLA, she majored in – get this – gender studies!
Following the American Cup win (against Simone Biles), she would undergo shoulder surgery and be unable to compete for the rest of the year.
During a meet between the UCLA Bruins (her gymnastics team) and the Arizona Wildcats, she suffered a breastbone fracture after a dislodged balance beam cap led to a landing on her neck.
She was coached by Valeri Liukin — whom she, among others, would go on to name in a weight-shaming charge.

Why she might not be annoying:

As the only daughter, and youngest of four, to a high-school gymnast, she came by her capacities honestly.
She was a key backer of a student-run homeless shelter for the university.
She scored the 10th perfect 10 score of her career at the 2019 PAC 12 Championships.
Despite a multitude of new pursuits – photographer, author, street dancer, brand partnerships – she never fully detached herself from the American gymnastics community.
