Why she might be annoying:

Her Aunt Eliza and Aunt Susan both insisted she be named after them, so her mother combined their names to create 'Zasu.'
She was famous for her fluttery hand movements.
D.W. Griffith refused to work with her because of her too close resemblance to his favorite leading lady Lillian Gish.
Although she and her first husband separated in 1926, she didn't file for divorce until 1932.
Preview audiences laughed when they saw her in 'All Quiet on the Western Front (1930),' so she was replaced by Beryl Mercer.

Why she might not be annoying:

Erich Von Stroheim called her 'the greatest tragedienne of the screen.'
When it became clear that her high pitched voice made her unsuitable for dramatic roles in talkies, she switched to comedy and became a successful character actress.
Max Fleischer based his animated character Olive Oyl on her.
After her close friend Barbara LaMarr died in 1926, she adopted her young son.
