Why they might be annoying:

Many have referred to Manson and his group as nothing more than a poor man's Alice Cooper.
Manson is a reverend in the Church of Satan.
They became infamous in the music world, with Manson ripping apart Bibles onstage and throwing mutilated animal parts into his audiences.
The religious fanatics and parental groups dislike him immensely.
Manson once was accused of rubbing his crotch in the face of a security guard backstage at one of his concerts.
Twiggy departed the group in 2002.
The cover of 'Holy Wood' features Manson's face imposed on the crucified body of Christ (it was then banned from several retailers, like Wal-Mart and K-Mart).

Why they might not be annoying:

    His fans absolutely love him.
He and his band were a popular figure for controversy after the Columbine High School massacre in April 1999, but he defended his image and spoke out against Columbine gunmen Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold and the media for exploiting the teens who were killed.
Manson is an intelligent and savvy marketer.
After Columbine, Manson called off his nationwide tour out of respect for those who died at Columbine.
All of the band members play multiple instruments.
Manson and his band have contributed to numerous soundtracks, including 'Blair Witch 2,' 'Queen of the Damned,' 'Resident Evil' and 'The Matrix.'
    Manson also wrote an autobiography.
Their music explores the hypocrisy of society and the world in general.
