Staged the dances for the Broadway shows 'Kiss Me Kate,' 'Camelot,' 'My Fair Lady,' and 'Out Of This World'

She had a bitter rivalry with her contemporary Agnes DeMille.

She protested the Nazi regime in Germany... leaving the country before they took power.
