His first child was born when he was in his 50s.
Hedy Lamarr claimed he smacked her around several times.

He brought the swing sound to 1930s Germany.
Under the Nazi government, his music was banned, branded as 'Negro Jazz,' with tunes written by 'Swing Jew' Benny Goodman.
He opened Acapulco's first disco, Tequila-a-Go-Go.
His autobiography, 'Forever is a Hell of a Long Time,' was dedicated to his hundreds of girlfriends.
He advised: 'Never do anything in half-measures!'
