He was suspended four times during his rookie season in the pros for rough play.
He had four suspensions in his first five NHL seasons.
He spoke at a rally for supporters of the People's Party of Canada, denouncing the use of masks and vaccinations (September 18, 2021).
He was told by the Blue Jackets not to report to the team's training camp as a result of his admission to being unvaccinated (September 21, 2021).
