The Resume

    (August 17, 2007-June 12, 2015)
    Animated comedy series

Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz
Premise: The wacky and insane adventures of two mischievous schoolboys who embark on grand adventures that annoy their much older sister

Why Phineas and Ferb might be annoying:

Creator Dan Povenmire had previously directed an episode for 'Family Guy' which involved Osama Bin Laden. That episode aired one month before 9/11 happened.
The series was initially pitched to Nickelodeon, but they passed on it.
Disney Channel executives were initially worried that the series may have foul language and suggestive material given the creators' work on adult animated series.
The series relied heavily on running gags and slapstick humor.
    Phineas has a long snout.
Why on earth would two school-aged kids be going out gallivanting without their parents permission?
Candace often comes off as bratty and whiny.
Candace always attempts to get Phineas and Ferb in trouble, but always fall short.
The show's B-plot antagonist, Dr Doofenshmirtz, wants to takeover the world (duh).
Some critics argued that the show's content rips off from cartoons such as 'Looney Tunes' and 'The Simpsons.'

Why Phineas and Ferb might not be annoying:

Creators Jeff 'Swampy' Marsh and Dan Povenmire had previously worked on '<9055 Rocko's Modern Life.'
The show's premise was loosely based on creator marsh's own childhood.
While Phineas is talkative and outgoing, Ferb tends to be quiet and rational.
Every story involves a B-Plot where Phineas and Ferb's platypus named Perry embarks on a secret mission to foil Dr. Doofenshmirtz's evil plans.
Wouldn't you envy Phineas and Ferb's exciting and perilous adventures?
'Rocky Horror Show' actor Richard O'Brien lent his voice to Ferb's father/Phinea's stepfather while comedian Caroline Rhea voiced the boys' mother.
It featured numerous pop culture references, much to the delight of viewers.
The series has been praised for its sophisticated writing that adults enjoy, while utilizing simple storylines that children can follow.
Ben Stiller and Jake Gyllenhaal have admittedly been fans of the series.
The show has been nominated for several Emmys, including one for writing which resulted in a successful win (2010).
It is a welcome break from Disney Channel's other 'tween' fare.
The show's theme song was sung by rock band Bowling for Soup.
