Singles include 'I Saw the Light,' 'Night Life,' and 'Funny How Time Slips Away'

Why they might be annoying:

They tried to imitate the (then popular) Herb Alpert sound.
They gave their second album a long-winded and redundant title - 'The Nashville Brass featuring Danny Davis Play More Nashville Sounds' (at least it charted).
Davis claimed to have been surprised by their popularity with country fans, having been told '[they] don't like horns.'
They were on the final telecast of the Ed Sullivan Show before its cancellation (which - given the number of iconic guests the show had - could be considered anticlimactic by many).
They had numerous hits, but today most only know them as the English-language performers of a Japanese kids cartoon.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were named the CMA’s instrumental group of the year from 1969 to 1974.
They won a Grammy in 1969 for best country instrumental performance.
Danny Davis got his start in bands led by Gene Krupa, Bob Crosby, and Les Brown.
They found national success with covers of 'Wabash Cannonball' and 'Columbus Stockade Blues.'
They were one of the first Country acts to take to conquer the Las Vegas strip.
Their rendition of 'Go Speed Racer' is preferred by American audiences (likely due to its being more readily identifiable and just plain catchier).
Their version of the 'Go Speed Racer' song was sampled by Ali Dee, The DeeKompressor for the 2009 'Speed Racer' movie's soundtrack.
They gave their final public performance on July 23, 2005 at the Colonnade in Ringgold, Georgia. Davis was eighty years old at the time.
