    Born in Anchay, France
    Luggage maker
Founded the fashion house Louis Vuitton (1854)

Why he might be annoying:

He ran away from home at age thirteen.
He married 17-year-old Clemence-Emilie Parriaux when he was 33.
His standard trunk sold for the equivalent of $5,600.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made trunks out of canvas instead of leather, making them waterproof and better able to stand up to rough handling.
He introduced rectangular luggage (1858); previously all trunks had rounded tops, making them difficult to stack.
He was appointed personal trunk maker to Empress Eugenie (1855), giving him access to the kinds of clients who could pay over five grand for a suitcase.
He successfully rebuilt his business after his workshop was trashed by the invading German army during the Franco-Prussian War.
His luggage won medals at the Expositions Universelle of 1867 and 1889.
