Before joining Judas Priest he was in a progressive rock band called ‘The Flying Hat Band.'
In true Judas Priest style he wears plenty of leather during live shows.
His solo album didn't receive much attention even from Judas Priest fans.

Why he might not be annoying:

He covered the Rolling Stones classic ‘Paint it Black' on ‘Baptizm of Fire.'
He writes much of Judas Priest's music.
He along with band mate K.K. Downing popularized a faster pace to heavy metal from its beginnings with Black Sabbath.
