The Resume

    (January 23, 1960-September 27, 2019)
    Born in Wheeling, West Virginia
Appeared in ‘Prom Night,’ ‘The Karate Kid’ parts I and II, and ‘Iron Eagle’
Guest appearances include St. Elsewhere, MacGyver, Columbo (1989), Coach, Kung Fu: the Legend Continues, and Cobra Kai (his final role)
Died of alcohol-related liver disease at age 59

Why he might be annoying:

Like William Zabka, he had no formal martial arts training prior to Karate Kid casting.
That iconic line about getting (Daniel) ‘a body bag’ wasn’t in the original script. (It was actually improvised months after filming.)

Why he might not be annoying:

Zabka wasn’t the only one trying out for the role of Johnny Lawrence (later the central character on ‘Cobra Kai’).
Fans of The Littlest Hobo may have seen his name as a scriptwriting credit.
Following a stint of small roles and guest spots, he would go on a two-decade hiatus from acting and manage a local eatery.
He would eventually make peace with being known almost exclusively as Cobra Kai gang member Tommy.
In fact, he would remain close friends with the rest of the original Cobra Kai gang (which included Ron Thomas and Tony O’Dell).
