The Resume

    (July 18, 1932-October 31, 2016)
    Born in Dayton, Ohio
Birth name was Natalie Zan Moore
    Author of 'Tuck Everlasting'
Wrote 'The Search for Delicious,' 'The Devil's Storybook,' 'Knee-Knock Rise,' 'The Something,' and 'Jack Plank Tells Tales'

Why she might be annoying:

She was very prolific her whole career but never reached the heights of Tuck Everlasting again.
She took one writing course in college because her husband hoped to become a novelist and she wanted to understand the challenges he faced.
But, she claimed he 'didn’t enjoy the long, lonely hours that writing demanded' and became a college administrator instead.
Devil's Storybook and its sequel were anecdotes told from the perspective of Beelzebub - usually involving his processing damned souls that had just died and gone to Hell (and it was a children's book!).

Why she might not be annoying:

Tuck Everlasting was adapted into two feature films and a Broadway musical.
Tuck Everlasting was named an ALA Notable book and continues to be popular with teachers.
She was inspired to write Tuck - a story about immortality - after her daughter woke from a nap crying because she was scared of dying.
Aside from Tuck, of her work she personally recommended 'Herbert Rowbarge' ('for women over 40') and 'Goody Hall' ('for kids').
She won the inaugural E. B. White Award for achievement in children’s literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2013.
Anne Tyler called Tuck Everlasting 'one of the best books ever written — for any age.'
