Why he might be annoying:

    He quit his playing career midway through the 1954-55 season to pursue coaching.
    He was the architect of the inaugural Capitals roster, known to many as being the worst expansion team in NHL history.
    He fired two head coaches during that season, before taking over behind the bench.
    Many hockey pundits don't acknowledge his tenure in Washington, when talking about his career.
    He dropped out of high school.
    He passed on a chance to play baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, citing he would have more strikeouts then home runs.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He worked in a shoe factory, after dropping out of high school to provide for his family.
    He served for the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War II
    He, along with Woody Dumart and Bobby Bauer formed 'The Kraut Line' for the Bruins during the 1930's and 1940's.
    He won four Stanley Cups as a member of the Bruins as both a player and executive./He was one of the first players to play in the American Hockey League, upon its founding.
    He was loyal and dedicated to the Bruins franchise, even after a sabbatical in Washington./He was voted by the NHL as one of the 100 Greatest Players in league history three days prior to his death.
    He was the oldest living NHL player at the time of his death.
