Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His career was floundering until he reinvented himself as a knuckleball pitcher.
He spent the second half of his career on either mediocre or non-contending teams.
He is remembered for being one of the three Dodger pitchers who surrendered a home run to Reggie Jackson in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series.
He put Geno Petralli into major league infamy after the latter caught four passed balls he threw in one inning (1987).
He finished his career with both 216 career wins and 216 career losses, giving him the distinction of having as many career losses as he had wins.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the one of the first pitchers to perfect the knuckleball pitch.
He established himself as starting pitcher after joining the Rangers.
He left the Rangers as the franchise’s all-time leader in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and complete games.
He was a member of the inaugural Marlins roster (1993).
He pitched in the majors until the age of 46, making him the last active player born in the 1940s at the time of his retirement.
