    He was famous in Canada primarily for being good looking.
    He dyes his hair.
    He is considered biased in his reporting and makes his liberal political views well known during his reports.
    He became an American citizen 1 week after the September 11 attacks.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered as a replacement for Dan Rather, but lost out to Bob Schieffer.
    Since the announcement of the nomination of John Roberts for Supreme Court Justice, he jokingly demands to be referred to as Your Honor.
    He co-hosted The New Music, a Canadian music show that gave national exposure to edgier music artists.
