The Resume

    (August 14, 1961-February 18, 1995)
Birth name is Thomas Edward Gilbert Jr.
Wrestled and booked for the UWF, TWA, ECW, WWF, WCW, USWA, SMW and Puerto Rico
Former ECW Tag Team Champion and USWA Champion
    Known as 'Hot Stuff'

Why he might be annoying:

He was once billed as hailing from 'Every Girl's Dream/Every Woman's Fantasy.'
He had a tendency to walk out on promotions.
He left almost every company he worked for on bad terms. He would leave territories with title belts and even double-cross promoters in the ring on his way out.
He was married and divorced three times.
His wedding to Missy Hyatt was held at a Halloween party they had. They were dressed as a bride and groom with a justice of the peace dressed as a wizard. The guests had no idea they were attending a wedding until the vows were actually being said.
The WWF met with him and Missy Hyatt to talk to them about working for the company, but Vince McMahon paid most of his attention to Missy. Eddie got angered to the point where he made Missy work for the WWF without him and took a job booking for the UWF.
He died of a heart attack that was caused by a cocaine overdose.
After his death, Todd Gordon did an angle in the NWA where he formed a stable called Hot Stuff Inc.. The stable was a take off of a stable of the same name, which Eddie was the leader of and one of the members of the new version was Missy Hyatt, Eddie's ex-wife. The angle was regarded as distasteful and disrespectful.

Why he might not be annoying:

Although he had a terrible work ethic that was well known, his wrestling ability and reputation as a creative booker always got him work.
He was a respected booker, as he would book against the traditional way of booking to make it interesting.
He broke his neck in an auto accident. Many considered his career to be over, but within months he returned to wrestling.
In his book, Mick Foley calls his falls count anywhere match with Eddie the greatest match of his career at one point and some of his greatest matches as an independent were with Eddie.
Although both marriages were short-lived, he will go down in history as the man who was married to both Missy Hyatt and Madusa.
When he died, the USWA, ECW, SMW and many independent promotions held ceremonies in his honor, even in places as far away as Calgary.
    He's ranked #80 in Total Wrestling Magazine's 100 Greatest Heels of All-Time.
He was named Booker of the Year in 1988.
He's a member of the Memphis Wrestling Hall of Fame.
