Why he might be annoying:

Although he wanted to study mathematics and philosophy, he yielded to his parents' wishes and majored in pharmacology so he could take over the family drugstore.
He met his future wife, Anne Klauber, when she was one of his students at the University of Budapest.
He and Anne married after immigrating to Australia (1951); they understood so little English that he explained that she had promised to improve her cooking.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was in a railway station waiting to be deported to a concentration camp, he removed the armband identifying him as Jewish and quietly slipped out of the station (1944).
He spent the rest of WWII sheltered in a Jesuit monastery.
He was forced to resign from the faculty of the University of Budapest because of his anti-Marxist opinions (1948).
While accepting his Nobel Prize, he said he hoped his theories would help governments and corporations make better decisions and create a more peaceful world.
