Recorded 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn,' 'A Saucerful of Secrets,' 'More,' 'Ummagumma,' 'Atom Heart Mother,' 'Meddle,' 'Obscured by Clouds,' 'Dark Side of the Moon,' 'Wish You Were Here,' 'Animals,' 'The Wall,' 'The Final Cut,' 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason' and 'The Division Bell'

Why they might be annoying:

Although they recorded many albums, radio stations usually play songs only from 'Dark Side of the Moon,' 'Wish You Were Here' and 'The Wall.'
Founding member and original band leader, Syd Barrett had a mental breakdown thanks to drugs, shortly after the release of 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.' He went on to live in seclusion for over thirty years.
Roger took complete control in his final years with the band, and when he left, he unsuccessfully sued the other members to dissolve the band.
Syd came up with the name Pink Floyd from combining the names of a couple of his favorite bluesmen: Pink Anderson and Floyd 'Dipper Boy' Council.
They had a Volkswagen car named after them.
Richard was fired from the band after the release of 'The Wall,' although he remained as a sideman until he was reinstated as a full-time member for 'The Division Bell.'
There have been many rumors over the years that Roger would rejoin the band, but nothing has happened.

Why they might not be annoying:

They are one of the most popular and influential bands of all time.
They overcame the loss of two important members (first Syd and later Roger) to have success.
'Dark Side of the Moon' spent a record 724 weeks on the Billboard Album Chart, and happens to be the fourth best selling album of all time.
By an interesting coincidence, if you play 'Dark Side of the Moon' over the movie 'The Wizard of Oz,' the album perfectly matches the editing of the movie.
They have been known to put on spectacular, elaborate live shows.
'Animals' was based on George Orwell's novel 'Animal Farm.'
'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' from 'Wish You Were Here' was a tribute to Syd Barrett.
'The Wall' went on to become a movie.
