Why she might be annoying:

She was divorced.
Despite being the first woman to fly solo from Britain to Australia, she is often overlooked in comparison to Amelia Earhart.
She and her husband piloted a plane that crash landed in Bridgeport Connecticut, injuring both of them.
Her plane went off course in bad weather resulting in her fatal crash.

Why she might not be annoying:

The plane from her historic flight is on display at the Science Museum in London.
She survived the crash but drowned in the water.
Her body was never recovered.
For a while she was the only female pilot in the world.
She demonstrated women were just as capable as men in the aviation world.
