Why Twin Peaks might be annoying:

It was originally scheduled as a two-hour TV movie, but was broken down into a two part episode.
It only lasted two seasons, airing just thirty episodes.
It has been described as violent, disturbing, cynical and obsessive, which did not please network standards and practices.
Network executives got involved and as a result, the murderer of Laura Palmer was revealed in the second season like the network wanted.
They changed the series focus and it was unable to get back on track.
Lynch invited others to guest-direct the series, which resulted in lower quality episodes.
It started the catch phrase, 'That's a damn fine cup of coffee.'
    It was very strange.

Why Twin Peaks might not be annoying:

It has a huge cult following.
    It was unique.
The network was so impressed with the pilot that they thought of showing the first hour of the show without commercial interruption.
It was critically acclaimed for much of its first season.
It borrowed elements from David Lynch's films.
It was hugely successful in Japan and Europe.
It had brooding musical score with lots of jazz interludes.
It inspired many other television series.
