The Resume

    (1900- )
    Dodge Brothers Company
    Headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan
Founded by John and Horace Dodge
First Dodge automobile appeared on November 14, 1914
Division of Chrysler Corporation (as of 1928)
Popular models include Charger, Durango, Caravan, Intrepid, Stratus, Hornet, Challenger, and the Ram pickup

Why Dodge might be annoying:

They claim to have invented the word 'dependability' (debated).
It has gone through more logos than McDonald's has slogans.
It released its Model 30, in direct competition with Ford's Model T - while the Dodge Brothers and Henry Ford were battling it out in court over dividends.
After the death of both founding Dodge brothers, it was sold by their families to Dillon, Read & Co. in 1925 before being sold off to Chrysler.
They manufactured a car marketed exclusively to women: called La Femme (it had rosebud-dotted upholstery and an attached purse!).
The 1973 oil embargo caused its sales to slump.
Its cars are stereotyped (sometimes accurately) as perpetually dilapidated and constantly breaking down.

Why Dodge might not be annoying:

They invented the first winterized car.
The first all-steel body car was a Dodge.
Its cars were used in the first 'mechanical' cavalry in US history in a charge against Pancho Villa.
Its models - especially the Viper - are extremely popular with gearheads.
It is the choice vehicle of Al Bundy.
It has been referenced in songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd ('Outta Hell in My Dodge'), Frank Zappa's ('Joe’s Garage') and Bruce Springsteen (in both 'Jungleland' and 'The Promise').
The stars of The Dukes of Hazzard drove a 1969 Dodge Charger named 'The General Lee.'
Although now controversial due to its association with the Confederate Flag, Bubba Wallace did use the General in his Twitter header image for a time.
Tom Wopat would also drive the exact same make and model as The General during his Smallville guest spot.
